Virtual Meetings are held through technology to reduce or eliminate face-to face meetings. Sometimes work schedules, traveling or other responsibilities make it difficult to agree on a time that all can get together. If groups organize their schedules early on, then use of technology can help get the work done efficiently. Try some of the follow:

bullet Use instant messenger or online "chat"

bulletSet up a e-mail listerv for your group

bullet Create a team website so that all schedule, updates and assignment can be posted for the whole group to see wherever they are

bullet Use the telephone If long distance is an issue, calling cards greatly reduced the charges.

bullet Ask your professor to help set up a group space with chat and threaded discussions through WebCT Vista

bulletCheck out the IT Services page for resources for students. Contact the help desk and plan ahead.
