Biography
I am currently an Assistant Professor pursuing tenure at IPFW. I teach technical writing and multimedia, specifically ENG W421, Technical Writing Projects, ENG W234 Technical Report Writing, and W367/C567 Writing for Multiple Media. My research interests include literacy, ethnography, materiality of texts, cross-generational technology use, faith-based academic work, and connections between digital and cultural rhetorics. My current course, Literacy and Family History, is the first time my research interests have matched up with my teaching obligations, although I find ways of incorporating my interests in whatever I teach.
My work has appeared in Pedagogy 6.2, as I was a member of DigiRhet which produced "Teaching digital rhetoric: Community, critical engagement, and application." My individual work appears in College Composition and Communication (February 2009) and the Journal of Literacy and Technology (forthcoming 2009).
