Summit City Spring Championship #1, February 4th 2007 (Sealed Deck)

(mainpage)
It was a bad idea to start the Championship series on Superbowl Sunday, the turnout was nothing to write home about. We enjoyed the hospitality of TopShelf, though—Thx! Below a couple of shots.

Summit City Spring Championship #2, March 4th 2007 (2HG)
back to (top)
(mainpage)
Eleven two-headed giants played in five rounds for the title. "Books, Comics and Things" provided a couple of rooms on the second floor, and we all enjoyed, I think, despite some very tight matches, a fun event in a relaxed atmosphere. Thanks also to Sam for being such a great floorjudge. See you in April, folks! Below again some impressions from the tournament.

Summit City Spring Championship #3, April 1st 2007 (Constructed)
back to (top)
(mainpage)
Twentyseven players showed up to "win a box" at our third Championship tourney, this time hosted by "The Keep." The event saw a lot of blue/splash control decks, two of them made the T4. The semi-finals were first-class matches—real eye-candy to watch—that left Dan and Cory tied for the third place (10 boosters each), while Tylor and Len decided not to play the final but to split prices instead (30 boosters each plus trophy). Thanks again, Sam, for being such an alert floorjudge. See you in May, folks!

Summit City Spring Championship #4, May 6th 2007 (Booster Draft)
back to (top)
(mainpage)
"Thanks a bunch!" to Aaron and Bobby for providing us with wonderful facilities at their school, Indiana Tech. Although the first price was again a whole box of boosters, the turnout was lower than anticipated; Sam (who helped me as floor judge at the other events) therefore joined the other players and made the first place, congrats! The format was a block draft (TS/PC/FS), which proved to be quite demanding for many players not only during the draft but also during game play: we had a total of 13 cautions and warnings.
