The general format for notebooks and reports are posted on
the web page. For each experiment if it needs any additional information or
change, I will post it. Otherwise you can follow the same format for most of
the experiments in this course.
·
The reports for experiment #1 (Acetanilide) is due on
September 6th. I will collect the lab notebooks on that day as well.
Make sure that your notebook is ready and written properly. This time I will not
grade the notebooks and I only want to show you how I grade them, so if
something is corrected or indicated as wrong don’t do the same mistake
again. Include only aniline, acetic
anhydride and acetanilide in your table of compounds.
·
The reports will be graded. They must be typed and all
structures computer generated.
·
Answer questions 1,2,4,5, and 6 on page 68 in your report.
·
Turn in your sample in a labeled sample bottle. The sample
bottle’s must including your name, compound’s name (acetanilide), melting point
of your sample, tare weight of bottle (with the cap) and sample’s weight, and
NFPA numbers.
