Research Interests
Traffic Safety: Baseline safety analysis; safety
performance functions; crash hot spots; effectiveness of safety
countermeasures; crash modification factors; safety management systems; truck
safety and operation on highways incorporating pavement deterioration and
maintenance, traffic citations, weather conditions, and road closures. Paved and Gravel Road Management Systems: Developing
optimization methodology; budget optimization; capital improvement plan; and
asset management systems including paved roads, unpaved roads, bridges and
cattle guards; application of smartphone applications in assessing paved and
unpaved road conditions; statewide road condition evaluation; and performance
modeling to predict dust emission generated from gravel roads. Transportation Planning: Estimation of traffic; paved and
gravel road management systems; safety management systems. FUNDED Projects as principal
